So I’ve been pretty vague on here about life stuff of late. That’s partially on purpose and partially because one of the great ironies of blogging about your life is that when really interesting things are happening, it’s unlikely you have time to blog.

To play catch up: I quit my job in Charlotte, rented my house to two friends, and moved all of my belongings into my parents’ basement. On Saturday I left Rosie with my parents and Pawley at her daycare in Charlotte and yesterday I drove to DC (and only cried for the first 200 miles of the trip! impressive, no?). 

Today I began my new job as an editor for magazine in DC. And so far, it’s awesome. (That, by the way, will probably be the most I ever talk about my job in this space as I signed some papers today which basically said “don’t yap about this job on the internet.”)

Now, for the plan: I’m going to be moving in with my good friend, Jenn. She has agreed to live with Pawley and Rosie (feel free to send donations for the psychiatric hospital I’ll eventually have to commit her to). Currently, we’re homeless though as we’re finding that obtaining a dog-friendly, inexpensive home in the DC area is basically like finding fat-free cheese in my refrigerator… or finding an unchewed pillow in a room with Pawley… or finding Rosie’s ribcage. Ok. I’m going to stop. 

Anyway, we’ve both worked out places to sleep until January 1st. At that point my plan is to see if Jenn wants to go hang out at Occupy DC. It’s right across the street from my office so the commute would be awesome and they’ve already got tents set up. Pawley totally looks like a dog that should live on the street so she’ll fit right in. I have some concerns about Rosie’s adjustment, but I think we’ll work through it.
